It is 3rd of December, International Day of Persons with Disabilities and Sangati marked it by setting up the first Accessible Public Toilet. Location is Sector 29, Gurgaon.
This is but one step and we intend to setup at least a 100 accessible toilets, covering every highway and knocking away all barriers to accessibility and inclusion or up until universal accessible toilet design is adopted. We named this project Sangati Durlabh Toilets, for obvious reasons š (for those unaware, Durlabh means hard to find)
This project of 100 Accessible Toilets will run across the length and breadth of the country. But we alone do not have the resources to undertake it on our own. Calling individuals, corporates, corporators, NGOs, municipalities, market associations to join hands, support us and help create a network of accessible toilets
Pictures of the day ; a non-event by most standards but i cant begin to describe the joy and satisfaction this brought us and the kind of efforts it entailed. We sleep with a smile today and dream big dreams.
